The Wild ‘N Out star continued to express his grief as a result Jacky Oh’s death, attributing his spiritual faith with assisting him in strengthening his mental health.
“1 year already,” the 32-year-old wrote. Sh*t feel like yesterday!!! Being frustrated ain’t gon work cause its gon make yu more frustrated… yu jus gotta keep GOD first and jus stay positive and not lose focus… cause this sh*t will have u all over the place,” he added, along with the hashtag #NotAPostImTrynaGetUseTo. “Jus wanna kiss yo dam face. I love u mama.”
Jacky Oh, born Jacklyn Smith, passed away on May 31, 2023, from cosmetic surgery complications at age 33. Jacky Oh, who also starred on Wild ‘N Out, had underwent a “mommy makeover” procedure at a facility in Miami prior to her death. A coroner ruled her death as accidental and no criminal charges were filed.
DC Young Fly and Jacky Oh dated for several years and share three children, 7-year-old Nova, 3-year-old Nala, and 16-month-old Prince Nehemiah. DC Young Fly has addressed the circumstances surrounding Jacky Oh’s death on several occassions, with the comic lamenting the role men can play in fortifying their romantic partners’ self-confidence.
“I get why women want to enhance themselves, but fellas, we have to do more on just continuously telling our women that they’re beautiful,” he said during an appearance on former NFL star Cam Newton’s podcast earlier this year.
“We have to continuously tell them that they’re gorgeous. Don’t make your woman feel like she has to go do something, even if you f**king with another chick… you just love a woman. That’s it.”
