Alright EDM enthusiasts and raveheads, it’s that time of year again. The Grammy Music Awards are fast approaching, as seen with the recently released 2014 nominees list, and in January the event will either hail or snub the electronic music genre pending on how well it can be commercialized to the masses. For instance, in 2012 deadmau5 and David Guetta performed alongside the Foo Fighters and Usher in celebration of the genre while in 2013 we only saw one producer onstage when Skrillex gave his Grammy acceptance speech after winning the title for ‘Best Dance Recording.’
Now comes round three, and the obvious DJ nominees make the roster again for Best Dance Album and Best Dance Recording categories, including Calvin Harris, Kaskade and Daft Punk, along with a few pleasant surprises such as previous underground acts Pretty Lights, Disclosure and Duke Dumont.
